Amidst the hype of the fifth season premier of HBO's hit Game of Thrones, based on George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire book series, comes the announcement of an exciting new game tied in to the franchise. Gamers will actually have the chance to play as the eccentric, yet loveable author George R.R. Martin, as he struggles to find inspiration and work ethic to finish the book series.
Martin, known for his meticulous and time-consuming writing style, generally takes six years or more to finish a book, much to the dismay of many fans. Recently, it was even announced that due to this leisurely writing pace that the television adaptation would overtake the source material, spoiling major plot details for those who prefer to read.
Due to the success of the TellTale Games series based on the franchise, developers thought a trip inside the inner workings of the creative force behind the world of Westeros would be a bold new step. As Martin, players will be able to visit the set of the show, talk with fans at conventions, run a small independent movie theatre, post on internet forums, kill off chracters with reckless abdanonment, and even read sample chapters to large audiences. There will, however, be no gameplay that features actual book writing. - James "Nate" Macbeth
